A Word From Sis. Singleton

“And he said unto them, I am an hundred and twenty years old this day.  I can no more go out and come in:  also the Lord hath said unto me, Thou shalt not go over this .”  Deuteronomy 31:2 (in the King James Version of the Holy Bible).

As I read this Bible reading I was so intrigued with this elderly gentleman.  At 120 he was still a firm believer in the Lord God.  Instead of sitting in his proverbial rocking chair hoping God would send judgment to the renegades,  he lived up to his reputation of being the meekest man on earth.

Moses could have been soured with life and his congregation and family who rose up in opposition more than one time, but he chose the high road of trusting his God.  In fact, as I read on God commanded him to write a song and leave a blessing for the children of .

He left God’s people on a high note in spite of knowing that they would turn from God.  Moses wanted them to know who led them and that they were the apple of God’s eye.  Deuteronomy 32:31 is part of the song which reads, “For their Rock is not as our rock…”  What a way to go!  What an incredible 120-year-old.  I want to leave those who follow me with a song.

Regardless of the sour grapes of life that comes your way, be like Moses and realize that God has a reason and whatever you’re going through will pass.  He has not changed one iota.  Life is hard, but God is good!

Leave a legacy of song with your kids.  It will sustain them through life.
